Presidio Testing Capabilities for
Commercial Single Layer Ceramic Capacitors
The capacitors described here are commercial capacitors that are tested in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-202 methods listed here, EIA 198, EIA 469 and MIL-C-49464.
Quality Assurance Provisions
Every lot undergoes the following inspection and tests:
Destructive Physical Analysis: (DPA) - A 32 piece sample is pulled from each lot and examined per EIA 469 and to verify adherence to Presidio’s internal design criteria.
Capacitance - All parts are tested at 25°C and 1VACRMS in accordance with method 305 of MIL-Std 202. Class 1 dielectrics are tested at 1 megahertz. Class 2 and 3 dielectrics are tested at 1 kilohertz.
Dissipation Factor (DF) – When tested in accordance with method 305 of MIL-STD-202 shall not exceed EIA-198 Part III Section 3 table 1 limits.
Dielectric Withstanding Voltage (DWV) – A sample (I/1%) tested at 2.5X rated voltage in accordance with method 301 of MIL-Std-202.
Insulation Resistance (IR @ 25°C) - All parts are tested at 25°C and rated voltage in accordance with method 302 of MIL-Std-202. The minimum IR required is 100,000 megaohms or 1,000 megaohm-microfarads.
Visual - Performed on all pieces in accordance with Presidio internal workmanship criteria.
Mechanical – A sample of 13 pieces is evaluated in accordance with Presidio catalog.
Destructive bond pull test and die shear strength test – performed in accordance with methods 2011 and 2019 of MIL-Std-803.
Product will be packaged in individual waffle trays or carrier tape in accordance with customer requirement.
